Irmaly Brackin

Artist Irmaly Brackin Country Germany/USA

If you want to SEE the value of an artwork, come and see Irmaly's work in reality (no picture can give you the details- even the frames are part of her artwork...)
Here she explains herself:
" Most of my paintings deal with my inner world. The works have grown out of struggle and wonder, pain and beauty and are the visions that are the richness in my life.

I first began to record my dreams when I was around 10 years old. My parents had a dramatic divorce and I found art and dreams as a place of refuge. It is in dreams that I seek to solve the problems of the world, explore differences, predict outcomes and play with possibilities … of stimulus around me. In the imagination one can create new ideas from old memories and reconstruct disturbing events to find meaning.

My artworks are often about transformation, protection, love, growth, sensitivity, and peace. I seek to discover the profound aspects of existence.

I have enjoyed researching symbolism in art from the earliest art (caveman-contemporary.) I have spent time teaching in public schools and colleges and have observed symbolist art from very young children through adult years. I love the free-spirited imaginary art of the child and the more philosophic surrealism of adults. I try to involve all spheres of growth and imagination in my works: creating works that are childlike and philosophic at the same time.
