Ingrid Kaufmann

Artist Ingrid Kaufmann Country Switzerland

Ingrid Kaufmann is an ecological Swiss–Argentine artist. She was born in Argentina but has lived in Mexico and Brazil, and currently resides in Switzerland. Since the beginning her work has reflected an interest in nature. Ingrid began in 1997, with a series called “deforestation” followed by “pollution”. In 2000, her work incorporated the “sea” subject matter until 2002, when she took the “shell” as her symbol of nature. She has been developing multiple symbolism and shell images over the past few years, successfully combining symbolism and creativity with scientific research.
Ingrid finds in nature a never ending source of inspiration and knowledge. Her artistic point of view represents nature in a harmonious, colorful and positive way. Her work is full of energy.
Ingrid’s last exhibition in New York exposed the contemporary series realized on asymmetric cut wood coming out of squares or rectangular standard formats. She used different techniques such as traditional oil or acrylic to resin and digital media.
